About
I am a fourth year at the University of Georgia. I am currently studying Art Education and Drawing. I am a member of the Redcoat Marching Band at the university. During my off-weekends from cheering on the Dawgs I paint and restore murals with group called Color The World Bright. I am the project manager for the group; I organize the team, research the murals, and handle the business end of the projects along side Professor Joseph Norman.
My current body of work consists of 4-5 ft charcoal drawings. I have been studying narrative in drawing, the most interesting stories to me being leisure time. My drawings show the back of the figure and never the face, this is because I am interesting in portraying emotion through the subject's surroundings, body language, and the overall ambiance of the drawing.
When I'm not drawing, painting, or cheering for the Dawgs I am volunteering at my local church. I have fallen in love with the children's ministry there and enjoy every minute I get to spend loving on the sweet kids who come through the doors. There is a special place in my heart for kids and it really brightens my weeks to get to spend a few hours pouring knowledge into them and playing with them.
I am an art education major, as well as drawing, for that reason. I love working with people and seeing them learn and grow. Watching as someone learns new skills and enriching their life is an incredible opportunity for me.
